Passerotto is a traditional Korean restaurant in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood from lauded Chef Jennifer Kim. Diners will be treated to dishes inspired by Kim’s Korean heritage, her upbringing in the Chicago suburbs and her love of Central Italian cuisine.
Passerotto, which in Italian means “little sparrow,” is a nod to Kim’s father and his nickname for her growing up as well as her experiences in Italian kitchens, both professionally and personally.
At its heart, Passerotto is a Korean restaurant unabashedly serving Korean food. The nods and small influences to Central Italy serve as a tribute to the impact Italian food has played throughout Kim’s life and how it still continues to surprise, evoke and instill the Midwest Korean in her.
